Let us know some important figures recorded so far in relation to the basin area of the Niranjana (Falgu) river, which are from Chatra district under Jharkhand state to Gaya district under Bihar state –

  • The number of villages in the basin area of the river is 1032, the number of panchayats is 73 and the number of blocks is 13.
  • The origin of the river is Belgadhha place located in Simaria block and Suhavan place located in Lawalaung block.
  • This river originates from Chatra district of Jharkhand and passes through Gaya and Jehanabad districts of Bihar and meets at Ganga Tal of Mokama under Patna district. The total length of the river is 310 kilometres.
  • So far 139 activities / events have been conducted by the Mission. And 209 Gram Sabhas have been held on the subject of water.
  • So far, we have worked to reach the issue of river to millions of people of the basin area of the river.
  • So far, 720 small and big water sources (water bodies) have been studied and collected in the river basin area and in this direction, we have collected 450 crore liters of water in the last three years.
  • The mission has so far formed 143 “Water Committees” & “Chhath Puja Samitis” and 424 small and big meetings have been held regarding the rejuvenation of the river.
